    The software is used for managing websites, including browsing, upload, download, creating new directories, deleting files or directories, copy and paste files or directory. The software can also configure a user to access a specific directory with read or write access right.

2. Who may need this software?
    This software is designed for hosting companies, individuals who hosting their own web sites. 

3. All our clients are currently using FTP software to manage their web sites. Why do we need your software?
    This software is a server web application, client is Internet Explorer, and therefore, users do not need to install any client application. This saves a lot of administrative efforts and money to maintain the client applications. Other than that, everyone know how to use Internet Explorer, training is not needed. 

4. What special feature does the software provide?
    Users can be configured to have read or write access to a web site or specified directories. In other word, some users can be configured to have read access to only one particular directory. This feature enables you to set certain users to view your web site without changing it. For example, if you have some audio or video files, and want to share among a group of users. All you need to do is to create a user with read access and assign to the directory where the files are hosting. You don't even need to create any html pages, once a user login the system; they can enjoy all the music and video without any html pages help.

Configure Your System:

1. Open web.config under directory "siteman", search for <identity impersonate="true" userName="administrator" password="password"/>
	change the username and password to a valid Windows user who has administrator rights. 
	

2. On your browser¡¯s address window, enter http://localhost/siteman/browse.aspx or http://your domain name/sietman/browse.aspx. Test your system by entering the preset user "read" or "write" with password "siteman". 
   
3. You must complete this step before using the system for your business. Open web.config, search for <!--add key="UserFilePath" value="c:\" /-->. Uncommon the line make it look like this <add key="UserFilePath" value="c:\" />, then copy users.xml to c:\. You must relocate users.xml because the file can be download at the default location. If you prefer to place users.xml to other directory, change the value and set it to the directory accordingly. Remove the two default users from users.xml and add new users to the file.

    Relative directory to the web root, this is the directory that assigned to the user to have access rights. It must be exist in the system already. Leave it blank or \ is equivalent to all directories start from the web root. For example:  \, \Tommy, \Peter\music. 

<AccessRight> 
    Can take one of the two values£¬read and write. Read is read only. User with read access right can view information only, but not allow modifying the site. User has write access right, can do everything to maintain the site.

How to Use Your System:

    On your browser¡¯s address window, enter http://localhost/siteman/browse.aspx or http://your domain name/sietman/browse.aspx.

Login the system.

Set Columns and Rows:
    Base on the size of your monitor, you can adjust the row and column numbers to maximize the usability of your screen assets.

Change Directory:
    Click on the name of the directory which you have interest on and continue doing that can navigate from directory to directory.

Create a New Directory:
    Browse to the directory that you want the new directory will create under, click "Create Sub Dir" button, from the popup dialog, enter the new directory name and click OK.

Upload:
    Browse to the directory that you want the file will be upload to, click "Browse..." button, select the file that you to upload and click upload button.

Download:
    Right click the file name that you want to download, select "save target as" from the popup menu, on the download dialog, select the directory that you want to download to.

Open or Play a File:
    Click on the designed file name.
   
Delete a File or Directory:
    Click on the "Delete" link that associate with the file or directory, if the selected item is a file, it will be deleted right away. If the select item is a directory, the system will prompt you for conformation.

Rename a File or Directory:
    Click on "Rename" link the associate with the file or directory, on the popup dialog, enter the new name.

Copy a File:
    Click on "Copy" or "C&P" on the action column that associate with the file or directory, on the popup menu, select "Copy". Browse to the directory where you want to copy the file to, click on "C&P", on the popup menu, select "Paste". 

Copy a Directory:
    Click on "C&P" on the action column that associate with the directory, on the popup menu, select "Copy". Browse to the directory where you want to copy the directory to, click on "C&P", on the popup menu£¬select "Paste" or "Paste Content". "Paste" Pastes the entire directory to the destination. "Paste Content" pastes only the content that the directory contains.
    

Sort Files and Directories:
    The system can sorted the directories and files by name, size and modified date. Click the corresponding column header to sort.
